In the spirit of Thanksgiving, this week’s blog is written by our Director of Client Services, Katelyn, who has put together something special!
The holiday season is sure to make you extra grateful for this beautiful thing we call “Life”! Whether you are spending the holidays feasting on delicious meals, sharing family traditions, exchanging gifts with friends, or simply just relaxing and enjoying the time off, it is a time to express gratitude for all that we have!
However, why wait for the holiday season to think about what you are grateful for; gratitude should be expressed year round. Here are two simple ways for you to express gratitude on a daily basis:
Have you ever heard the quote “start each day with a grateful heart”? Sounds a bit cheesy, but is absolutely true and so easy to do. Every morning when you wake up, name three things you are grateful for. Say these three things out loud or write them in a journal by your bed. Take this one step further and enroll someone important in your life to participate — Every morning text each other the three things you are grateful for.
Another way to remember to be grateful is to tie gratitude to an action. Each time we do something specific, we remind ourselves that we are grateful for a certain/person or thing. For example, each time you brush your teeth you remind yourself that you are grateful for your parents, whenever you wash your hands you express gratitude for your team members, every morning when you drink coffee you think about how grateful you are for the clean air that you breathe. If you can start pairing certain actions with gratitude you will eventually build a daily habit!
